Welcome to Powers Street Cats and Little Furry Friends adoption site. We were created last June, 2010, due to the overwhelming amount of feral cats in NYC. And especially on the block of our street. There are an estimated 750,000 cats and kittens roaming the streets in all five boroughs of New York. But with the help of the New York City Feral Cat Initiative and their TNR (trap-neuter-return) program the number of feral cats is reducing.
All of the kittens previously featured here were the offspring of the feral cats on my block. They were rescued by PSC due to poor health and injuries which if ignored would have end up dying. After months of recovery, they all regained their health and eventually adopted to loving homes for. Please take some time reading their bios and stories below. PSC is progressively making efforts to keep the feral cats safe in this neighborhood. To date, 45 cats/kittens have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and 12 adopted to forever homes. And that is just within our one block radius. Check back frequently for updates on these kittens and our progress on Powers St TNR missions. Thanks for visiting!

MAGGIE

Name: Maggie • Age: approx 3 1/2 months • Sex: Female • Dewormed: Yes
FIV/FeLv Negative

Maggie was found, along with her brother Max, after hearing kitty yelping from a small backyard where she had just been attacked by an adult male cat. Laying helplessly on the ground bleeding she was rushed to our local vet. With bite wounds to her neck the vet fortunately was hopeful and cleaned her injuries for us and we were able to bring her back to health over the last few weeks. Her traumatic time has not stopped her from becoming a very cuddly friend however. She loves attention and is looking for someone who is perfect to give her what she deserves.
